1984, when the visionary Dr. G. Vishwanathan laid the foundation of this autonomous
institute, which has since flourished to become one of India's finest engineering
colleges.

Among engineering institutes and green energy research organisations, the Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIEINDIA) is the most popular and preferred Motorsports, Education, and Research Publication organisation in India. ISIEINDIA has been organising the FORMULA IMPERIAL (formerly known as Hybrid Vehicle Challenge-HVC) event for the past 8 years. Over 470 teams have participated in this event, with 25K+ student participants learning hands-on experience with hybrid, electric, and combustion vehicle technology. Top news channels in India have emphasised FORMULA IMPERIAL-HVC in electronic and print media. The Electric Formula Category debuted in our fourth season, and the Combustion Category debuted in our sixth season. From the 6th Season onwards, teams are participating in three categories: Electric/ Combustion and Hybrid Category.
Since its inception in 2000, Formula SAE-A has gained popularity among universities as a valuable platform for students to apply their studies in a practical and challenging setting. Every December, this educational program brings together around 35 university teams, allowing students, volunteers, and spectators to witness intense competitions between their creations. The event draws participation from various countries like the UK, Germany, India, Japan, New Zealand, and the USA. Graduates with Formula SAE-A experience are highly regarded for their motivation and competence, making them sought-after professionals. This competition fosters the development of problem-solving and results-oriented management skills within the constraints of a resource-limited organization—qualities the industry seeks in the upcoming STEM workforce. Team members are recruited for their refined engineering, management, leadership, teamwork, marketing, and finance skills, all perfected through this real-world commercial project. Formula SAE-A serves as a platform for cultivating the future's innovators, stars, and leaders in the mobility and transportation technology sector. By exposing young engineers to a wide range of industry sectors, the event introduces them to potential employers seeking individuals who can contribute effectively from day one of their careers. In a world where self-driving cars are revolutionizing travel, Formula SAE-A challenges students to design, construct, and race the next wave of autonomous formula student vehicles.
